I read a disturbing quote from Zelensky in the Guardian where even he admitted that reconquering the lost territories would cost them hundreds of thousands of lives. One solution offered by Edward Luttwak (a consultant whose Twitter I follow) is to hold independent plebiscites in Donets, Luhansk and Crimea. Time will tell.
